Amanda Harber's Journey

Amanda's career as a public defender was marked by dedication and a desire to do her best. However, the profession came with unique challenges, and Amanda often felt isolated in the courtroom. She admits, "I felt like everyone in the courtroom hated me, that my clients hated me, that I just wanted to do a good job, and I just felt alone sometimes."

Her experiences at TLC have helped her to learn more about herself, how to care for herself in this trying practice, and how to develop new skills to help her be a more effective advocate for her clients.  TLC continues to give her new tools to better connect with her clients and all the persons in the legal system that will play a role in their care and future.
